ABC disclaimer ‘pre-emptively apologises’ for comments in show reruns

Sky News host Chris Kenny says the ABC have added a viewer disclaimer prior to running episodes of 1980s show Parkinson in Australia, a talk show hosted by British television interviewer Michael Parkinson.

“As part of their 90th anniversary celebrations, the ABC is re-running many of the shows he broadcast from here,” Mr Kenny said.

The viewer advice claims the program conveys attitudes that could be offensive to viewers.

“The ABC thinks it has to pre-emptively apologise for jokes or comments made in old shows that might retrospectively not be seen as appropriate?”
