Much has been made of England’s peculiar bowling selections throughout the Ashes.

But when it comes to the Ashes blowtorch, has it been pointed in the wrong direction?
Fresh off his five wickets on day two, Stuart Broad dropped a “brutal” truth bomb on his teammates.
“It doesn’t matter what bowlers you play if you are getting bowled out for 140,” he said post match.
“That might be a bit brutal but that’s the truth in Test cricket.”
Broad’s not wrong either. England’s top score for the Ashes is 297. They have passed 200 just twice and were dismissed for an embarrassing 68 at the MCG.
The English batsmen have a chance to finally put a big together today. They will resume their first innings at 0/13.
Australia posted 8/416 before declaring yesterday.
