‘Crisis in trust’ in Victoria Police as force struggles to repair ‘damage’ to reputation

There is a crisis in trust in Victoria Police and the past week has done nothing to repair the damage to the force’s reputation, says Sky News host Rita Panahi.

“The reality is that Victoria Police’s standing in the community will not improve while command continue to make decisions that reinforce fears that the police force has become politicised,” Ms Panahi said.

“In the past week we’ve seen Vic Pol make two significant blunders – by devoting resources to hunt down an I Cook Foods whistleblower and failing to re-investigate the Red Shirts rorts.

“These latest developments will only undermine the public’s faith in the police force.”
