Govt to ‘set a goal’ of protecting 30 per cent of Australia’s land and oceans by 2030


Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek says the Albanese Labor government will set a goal to protect 30 per cent of Australia’s land and oceans by 2030. 

“We'll explore the creation of new national parks and marine protected areas, including by pursuing the east Antarctic marine park,” Ms Plibersek said during her address at the National Press Club. 

“This will be the latest chapter in a very proud Labor story.”
