Australian academic Kylie Moore-Gilbert has recounted her tale of being detained for 804 days in an Iranian prison in her new book, ‘The Uncaged Sky’.
Dr Moore-Gilbert was held in Iran after being charged with being a suspected spy and said it was a “good experience” for her to write the book.
“Initially I was a little concerned that working through some of those memories might be difficult for me but actually it was a cathartic experience and I’m in a good place,” she told Sky News Australia.
Dr Moore-Gilbert said writing the book helped her “come to terms” with her time in prison.
