Punchline’s afropop singer-songwriter Zee Nxumalo has finally marked her arrival into the music scene with the release of her new single titled, ‘Siyajola’. Having honed her craft over the years and re-emerged as a polished star ready to make her mark on the music industry, Zee recently joined forces with platinum-selling independent record label Punchline Media to officially launch her solo career.
Inspired by the likes of Kelly Khumalo, The Soil and Brenda Fassie, Zee is said to be a potent songwriter with the rare ability to pen catchy yet meaningful music that tugs at your heartstrings. This song is further said to have already sparked dozens of TikTok remakes since she first shared a snippet of the song last month. Apart from Zee’s incredible voice, it’s the song’s message that’s proved a hit with fans on social media as she confidently owns her throne as a woman in the dating scene.
In a world where it’s typically the men who often sing about breaking hearts and blasting women for being clingy, on ‘Siyajola’ Zee takes on that role as she tells a partner she’s seeing that she’s just having fun so he should ease up with all the lovey dovey talk.
In terms of what else we can expect from her this year, Zee says there’s a lot more music on the way: “I’m gonna be compensating for all the years I wasn’t dropping enough music. Expect more content, and just more of Zee Nxumalo.”
