The family home of former North Queensland Cowboys player Jake Clifford has been listed for sale, with the halfback now playing for the Newcastle Knights.
Originally from Tully, the Clifford family moved to Townsville six years ago so their talented son could pursue his footy career.
But with Jake now almost 2000km away, his parents Matt and Alison have enlisted Ray White’s Julie Mahoney to sell their much-loved home.
“We were drawn to the size of the property and the block, the location is great too,” Allison said.
“I loved that it was just minutes from Willows Shopping Centre, and of course at the time 1300SMILES Stadium,” Alison said.
The stadium in Thuringowa was the Cowboys home-ground before the new Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Railway Estate was completed in 2020.
The Clifford’s house sits on a 4024sq m block, and is just 12km from the Townsville CBD.
It has five bedrooms, three bathrooms and garaging for up to eight vehicles. There is also a guest retreat, pool and tennis court.
“Our home has so many aspects. The granny flat overlooks the pool, tennis court and backyard and has a mini resort-style feel to it,” Alison said.
“The gym/man cave is a huge space, and my studio that I ran my make-up business out of is gorgeous and has plenty of potential for anyone with a home-based business.”
Outside, there is manicured gardens and a huge entertainment area.
“The whole family is going to miss this place, it really is bittersweet selling it and saying goodbye, but it’s time for a new family to enjoy and value what it has to offer,” the Cliffords said.
The acreage property will go to auction on March 7.
