The Australian’s Graham Lloyd says the security agreement between China and the Solomon Islands is causing the issue of Australia’s national security to get “more acute”.
Mr Lloyd said there has been displeasure expressed by the US and Australia over the new relationship formed between China and the Solomon Islands.
“There’s obviously a close relationship there, and there’s obviously a strategy from China to bring the Pacific Islands nations closer and build its influence,” Mr Lloyd told Sky News Australia.
