A wildfire that broke out in New Jersey’s Pine Barrens grew to 13,500 acres and was 85 percent contained as of Tuesday, June 21, according to fire officials. The fire, dubbed the Mullica River Fire, broke out Sunday afternoon in the Wharton State Forest. Firefighters worked Monday as the fire threatened 18 structures and sent smoke billowing into the air.
