Sri Lanka’s economic crisis deepens amid fuel shortage

Sri Lanka's Energy Minister says the country has less than a day's worth of fuel left in reserve as public transport grinds to a complete halt.

Petrol reserves have dropped below 4,000 tonnes, but the shortage is expected to last until July 22, when the country receives its next oil shipment.

School closures have been extended because there is no fuel for residents to travel to and from classrooms.
